Cascading Blossoms

Oil on Canvas. Finished edges. A mophead hydrangea was the inspiration for this piece. Its blossoms, called florets, cluster together in various ways — different angles, different directions, different sizes. Their randomness was the basis for the composition. They could gather together or be independent. Adding movement lines leads the eye around the canvas getting one from floret to floret.
